The central process within EPI's integrated Planning Framework, and the central process for managing a firm's product development efforts, is Product Planning. EPI's Product Planning Process creates a picture of products in the market and products in development which shows the present and future health of your product lines and reveals gaps between current programs and your business goals
Product Planning then draws market intelligence together with an understanding of the firm's technology and other capabilities to identify areas of opportunity.
The product line plan maps product lines, product families, and technology platforms in a way that shows their dynamic connections to each other and to the market over time.
This central process enables managers to create a map of current efforts from which they can envision and plan for optimal use of technology and product development resources.
